My Last day with this awesome people :(

I am very sad to leave this wonderful place and this very kind persons. But I'm also very happy to see my family and friends again. I'm glad I could meet my goal, which was to build a good orphanage for children left without parents. All this was thanks to the help of my colleagues who live here in the Congo, I thank you for making me feel at home and teach me to speak this wonderful language. I hope to be back after completing my studies and hopefully not miss me because I will be back in a few years to see how things are going there ;) When I get home, I'll upload some photos of the trip for people to see what we did and so they want to help too. But for now i let you some photos of the orphanage, good bye I will always remember all of you!

We don't stop moving :D

Hi folks, I almost ran out communication because almost broke my computer, but everythig is alright. What happened was that we had to move because as it is winter, the animals are going to move from Kinshasa to Gombe, so here we are in Gombe! This trip just keeps getting more exciting, my translator nearly drowned. Anyway, when we arrived at Gombe we stayed about 3 months and went back, but this time we headed Masina to track animals. But at the last 2 months of my gap year we stayed at Kinshasa again because in summer the animals come back there. Now I'll be able to hunt the cockroaches that my mother hates haha, no just kiding, hunting is very difficult because you don't have to make any noise or the animals run away. But it worth the wait because village women cook very well, I'll leave some pictures of what I told you.
Ganfo and Watir hunting some deefs.
I can't wait to eat this delicious meals.
"We didn't hunt them because they are endangered species " said the group leader.

Here I am!

My first activities

Hello again my dear fans (just kidding hahaha), for those who have long wondered why I was not publishing anything, it is because I was very busy with my volunteering duties. During these weeks I was helping and I joined the routine that has these people. The day begin at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 10pm, every day, except Thursday because it is the day of God Habibi and that day they dance and eat a lot of fruits. Every day we had to go and fetch water from some wells that were 10 km from the village, since then I realised that you have to take care of the water and don't waste it. Women had to find fruits and the men were out hunting, while elders stayed in the village for simple tasks. In the afternoon when we were all gathered in a fire, as every day, they were all asking me words, so they learned my language and I learned some words too. It is an experience I will not forget, I look forward to tomorrow, even if it will be hard to wake up at 6am again.

My First Impressions.

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy my blog and I ask you to forgive me for any mistakes because it is my first blog. In this blog I will tell you all about my gap year in Congo. When I finally woke up to go to the airport and do something different in my life, I was very excited and it showed in my face. All that to meet new people, traditions and other things... I was very excited. When I was in the car with my parents, I realized that they were sad because I was leaving for 6 long months. But at the same time they were happy because they realized that I was taking growing up and they were in the car with a more responsable son. After saying goodbye to my parents at the airport, I boarded the plane and after a few hours I arrived in Congo. Upon arrival I was surprised that we were in winter and there was like 32°C. After finding my suitcase, I was very surprised because I never been received that way. When I started looking for the person that suposed to let me live in his house, I had settled with about 15 people who held a sign with my name! I couldn't believe what I saw, it felt very good. After talking a while with my new friends, they showed me my new home for the next six months.
